Sylvia
I feel I always had back pain, but doctors didn’t take it seriously.
My story seemed to start aged 24, as a young mum with leg pain, diagnosis-stretched ligament.
Later sciatica was blamed for many years. Did go to pain management clinic for a year!
(Thank you Dr Mills, made my life so much easier).
The pain has been excruciating at times , manageable at others, morphed into severe chest pain at some point. Seems the nerves can cause this.
It has been quite a challenge, quite a journey of self discovery. I am glad I hung in there because at the age of 62 an emergency casualty doctor gave me a diagnosis and understanding of AS.
Now it all makes sense😊.
Exercise has been very important for me, swimming, Tai chi, gentle stuff. Went to osteopathy for years.
Still try to walk a few miles each week, depending on pain level. Love walking at the sea side.
Dear Sylvia,
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.
Sincerely Cookie
