Michelle Daley
My name is Michelle Daley. I live in Warren, Michigan with my husband and two children. I have been suffering with ankylosing spondylitis for about 6 years. The pain started in my low back and hips when I was pregnant with my second child, my son, in 2007. I thought it was pregnancy related; however, it didn’t stop after giving birth. It continued to gradually become worse. I saw a holistic doctor, a chiropractor, my family physician, my ob/gyn, a fibromyalgia clinic, a pain specialist, and finally, a rheumatologist. My blood work came back positive for HLA-B27 and the rheumatologist has diagnosed me with AS, fibro, and psoriatic arthritis. I am currently taking methotrexate, which is helping the PsA pain, but nothing else. I am also scheduled to have a pain pump implanted on June 10th, 2013. Hopefully that will help somewhat with the pain of AS, as it has become unbearable and debilitating. I keep my hopes high and my faith strong. Thank you, Cookie, for sharing my face of AS and my story.
