Krystle Pogson

I am 27 years old and have had AS since I was 8 years old. I have suffered for many years with excruciating and debilitating pain.I have been on almost every med under the sun and they still only relieved some of my pain and gave me no relief from symptoms. My sacroiliac joint (SI joint) fused when I was 21 which left me in even more pain and walking with a cane. In March 2008 I married my best friend, and in Feb 2009 I gave birth to my beautiful daughter who weighed 6 little lbs when she was born and I couldn’t even lift her up. In 2008 I met a doctor in Toronto, Ontario Canada named Robert D. Inman, M.D. After extensive thorough testing, a formal diagnosis of AS, and no relief from alot of meds, in Feb 2011 Dr. Inman suggested me go on Remicade. It has saved my life. I still live with the damage that AS has caused to my body but hopefully Remicade can stop the progression of AS so I am able to look forward from here. My daughter is now almost 3 and I have been on remicade for just over a year. I don’t use my cane, can carry my daughter and run around with her and I take absolutely no other meds. I never thought a day would come where I could play and run with my daughter. Thank you to Dr. Inman and his team of doctors for treating me like a person not just a number and giving me the quality of life I had been dreaming of my whole life and for giving my daughter the playful mother she deserves. A special thanks to my wonderful husband who found Dr. Inman and wouldn’t take no for an answer. We all deserve to make our own destiny and not let a disease, disorder or for that matter a doctor tell us what that destiny should be. Although it may seem frustrating and exhausting at times, there is hope out there that you will find peace and serenity. Keep believing and find a good support network of people who love and care about you who will help you through the push of finding your answers you are searching for.
God Bless
