Dayna Bunnell
Well.. my name is Dayna Bunnell, I’m 28, in college full time to get my Medical Office and Billing Support degree, and I am also a single mom to two daughters – 7 & almost 2! I was diagnosed with AS a little over a year ago. I have always had pain in my back, and after having my first daughter, I have had a lot of hip pain. Summer of 2011 I went kayaking with a friend and after getting back to our camp site, my hands hurt so bad. I was unable to grasp anything, even a water bottle! After a lot of tests, getting my tonsils removed (doctors were worried I had strep lingering in my body) I was told I have AS. My rheumatologist had me start Enbrel, and it worked great. Unfortunately I had to stop taking it recently because I kept catching every virus my girls brought home from school/daycare. I have a long road ahead of me with this disease.. But it helps to have a support system of people that struggle with the same things!
