I recently saw a quote that said “do not focus on what you have lost but instead focus on what you will do with you what you have left.”
This inspired me after what has been a challenging year with finally getting a diagnosis at 37 of having ankylosing spondylitis. There are days that I don’t even recognize this new me.
I am determined to fight back against the constant pain and extreme fatigue that this disease causes. I take joy in the little things like my backyard vegetable garden my family and my dogs. These keep me going on the bad days and I find small ways that I can continue to be active including the purchase of a recumbent trike that I discovered through the wounded warrior program. To everyone with this disease I am inspired by your courage and determination and grateful for your advice. I send you healing energy.
