  1. Thank you for believing in me and being a part of Faces of AS

  2. When I read the stories on this site, and see each person’s face, I feel blessed and like I am not alone. Constant pain is a lonely place to be. After I realized the pain was impacting my career (I was an executive in a high pressure job) I desperately sought out specialists to enable me to keep working. Pain however, takes over your mind and results in destroyed relationships and inability to think logically. Four masters degrees wasted. I loved my career and worked hard; it was my identity. I lost my identity in 2016 when this cruel disease destroyed my athletic and high profile life. I cannot fathom how I deserve my husband; he has cared for me, returned to work at 79 to supplement our income, and makes my meals. I have a Service Dog and now have a new identity; I am a face of ankylosing spondylitis.
