A.S. Face 2151: Toni Stuckey
My name is Toni Stuckey and I was diagnosed with AS when I was 31. My son was almost a year old and my daughter was 3. I was diagnosed after a really severe case of iritis. I lost sight in my right eye a few weeks because of it. I have been through several doctors before finally finding one who understands me. I was asked in my initial visit where my disability paperwork was. I refused to consider it. I am on Humira now but I have taken pills and rhemicade previously. I still have flare-ups but I take a extra shot when I need to. I also have osteoporosis as well. I still work and do everything normal people would do except I take it easy when I need to. Humira has slowed down the fusion but it hasn’t completely stopped it. However, I am going to keep on fighting this disease until they find a cure.
