A.S. Face 1902: Ana Cristina

My name is Ana Cristina, I was diagnosed with AS, at my insistence, (although I work in a hospital setting), at age 40.
At that time I had a personal life, intense labor in the laboratory and with classes, when the AS came slowly and was stealing almost everything …
My father passed away early and although followed by rheumatology, no one came to the diagnosis of AS, but already had many complaints and made intense anti inflammatory medication. Today I see myself in many of his complaints.
What else hurts? is to stop being who we are and the social isolation that comes in the shadow of AS. Most of the people around us do not realize, that much has changed … so I think it is important that we should care for and care for the ones we love and be aware of the signs of AS in family members, it is the best way not to leave us go down with this disease!
