Hi Mia,
Thanks for sharing your story! I was a gymnast for 15 years during my childhood, so I can relate to your desire to compete. I’m 41 years old now, and continue to do handstands and cartwheels as much as I can on good days (mostly in my living room now). When I was diagnosed with AS two years ago, the doctor at Mayo Clinic told me “gymnastics probably saved you.” The habits I learned from gymnastics- daily movement, stretching, working with pain- have benefited me in management of my illness. I hope the same for you and wish you the best!
Dear Mia,
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.
Sincerely Cookie
Take care and Good Luck with your gymnastics Mia!!
