I’m not the typical face of AS. I’m one of many, people of color(black) person who has AS. I want people to see us as the faces that are also affected by AS.
Thank you so much for posting this! I sometimes wonder if the 15 year delay in my diagnosis is in part because I am a woman and I am black. One doctor kept asking about “my heritage”, suggesting it didn’t seem possible that I could have AS. Very frustrating.
