A.S. Face 1599: Leann Clinton
My name is Leann Clinton, I was diagnosed with AS about 15 months ago however I had severe back pain for three years prior, Over the course of the last four years I had 13 discs herniate and I’ve had lupus since my early twenties. It took a while for them to figure out what was going on. I’ve just turned 48. I’ve always been busy, working 60 hours a week in the Bay for a busy Plastic Surgeon, I also had a small homemade soap business on the side. I also have a two year old grand daughter Mila who is my first and only and I spend a lot of Mimi time with her. I just failed on humira, I am starting higher doses of methotrexate and Remicade hoping to get things under control. I’m still working 40 to 50 hours a week, I’ve down scaled my soap business. I still see my grand daughter once a week. I usually spend 24 hours at a time.
This disease has made it really hard to do some days then i get surges and do me. It makes it where there are days you just cant get out of bed and its depressing.
I’m losing a lot of hair with all of the drugs. I’ve got several other autoimmune diseases and its one day at a time. power through the bad and give it to God. I pray a lot and have a lot of prayer warriors. My son just tested positive and he’s only 23. I’m older than most of you and it hurts to see young people going through this. Holding out hope for better drugs and a cure. Giving it to God and doing it but its tough.
