An AS victim of over 35 years. Almost killed by NSAIDS as I became toxic…entire GI track ulcerated. Worked as a Special Education teacher until pain and lack of mobility made me stop. Have osteoporosis and have broken two vertabrea in my back. Was a support group leader with SAA…still get calls and I try to provide guidance to those who contact me.

Still recovering from a broken vertabre in my lower back. It broke during an uncontrollable coughing spell I had due to bronchitis. It broke due my having osteoparosis. ALL of us with AS need to get a bone density scan to see if we have osteparosis. If we do, there are meds for it.
