A.S. Face 1507: Amanda DeStigter
I am a 32 year old mother of 3 daughters. Recently engaged to an amazing supportive man. I have been battling back issues since I was 18. The last two years it has been very troublesome. Over a year ago I started seeing Doctors again for issues with back. Diagnosed me with degenerative disc disease. Multiple injections, steroids, medications, and tests with no relief. July of 2014 had a microdiesctomy in my L5S1. Again no relief. I am not able to sleep in my bed seems to cause flares. I “sleep” in a recliner and it’s a successful night if I get 4 hours of rest. I tested positive for the gene in May of 2014 (no one mentioned this!) Tested positive again in Feb 2015. Now I see a Rheumy. I am on week 5 of Enbrel. Other than my back (which is so severe during flares I can’t walk or do daily activities by myself) my wrists, hips, shoulders and feet are sore. So many medication changes I have lost count. I am hoping to sleep in bed soon.
