A.S. Face 1221: Elyna
I have just recently been diagnosed with A.S. I don’t know much about it except for what I have experienced for the last 10 or so years and finally got diagnosed. I know this is a painful disease and some of the things i have heard are so scarey. Am scared of my future but I hold on to the hope that it can still be a bright one…Thank you for your page because Yes we have a face and people can not understand diseases that they cant see..but we do…and we will beat it down….I Pray for all who has this thank you and Gd Bless you!

Dear Elyna,
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.
Sincerely Cookie
Welcome to ‘Faces’ and thank you for sharing. 10 years is a long time to go without answers. Although, that is an all to familiar story with AS. If you are in the Los Angeles area and want to meet others with AS, please join us at the Education/Support Group http://www.spondylitis.org/patient_resources/sg_losangeles.aspx . You are also welcome to call the SAA office with any questions (800) 777-8189. Finally, keeping informed is an important part of managing AS. There is a ton of info at http://www.spondylitis.org/about/newly_diagnosed.aspx . I was diagnosed 25 years ago and I am very happy. The path has not always been easy. AS is insidious. Wishing you a bright and happy future.
