I was first dx with having AS in 2004. It started out in my si joints to the point I had trouble getting in n out of a car. My hip so in severe pain n after a couple of months thinking it would go away, I finally went to see my primary doctor n he dx me with AS but wanted more test ran so I was sent to a rheumatologist n from there after test, I was dx with my AS. A few months later I ended up getting it in my eye. As of today I have no fusion at this time but seem to have all other AS related symptoms. I am so very thankful for Cookie Hooper who I have come to love, cherish n adore her compassion to like no other who seems to have anything to do or help with the AS world of people. She is simply amazing n a truly God send to Faces of Ankylosing Spondylitis. If no Cookie Hooper, I wldnt be writing this now. I so hope the world one day if not in my life time maybe there after can finally come to know just what AS is n what its people have been dealing with for years. Acknowledgement that “OUR pain of any symptom is real n does exist”.

Keep on Hoping for a CURE Dawn, you are still young. I won’t see a CURE in my lifetime anymore, but the next generation will, hopefully. I too was dx. in 2004, but had the AS symptoms all my life! Don’t ever give up!! Have a nice and hopefully painless week-end Dawn.
