A.S. Face 1029: Sabrina

Face 1029Hi i am sabrina i’m 29 and i got diagnosed with AS last year after years of pain and countless trips to see my GP and  hearing that “i was not old enough for there to be anything that bad to be wrong with me” and ” i would have to just get used to it” ect even though i’ve had osteoarthritis in my knees since i was little and would just send me home with pain killers .
I finally changed my doctors surgery and got sent to see a rheumatologist who diagnosed me with AS, Hypermobility symdrome and Fibromyalgia.
Now i struggle to do the most simplest tasks and on that rare day i feel able to do this or that, it causes so much pain that i struggle to move for a few days after, but i’m not going to let it beat me and keep me down, i will keep fighting

  2. Hello Sabrina,
It never ceases to amaze me the utter ignorance of UK doctors when it comes to A.S. Even after all the years of research that has been put in.
see face #1015. Glad to see a fellow Brit here as well.
If you ever want to chat, have a moan or just blow of some steam you are welcome to contact me, either on the “faces” facebook page or friend me on F/B Drew.Gordon007 .

  3. Hi Sabrina, sorry for your pain. That’s why you have to keep looking until you ting someone who understands you and can help with your problem. Hoping you can find the right help for you. Jeff

  4. So sorry for your struggle and pain Sabrina. If Dr’s would get their nose out of textbooks and listen to the patient like they should be I wouldn’t happen this way. For every rule, there are always exceptions. Don’t give up, stay active and moving, you can make it!
