A.S. Face 1028: Ryah
I have known I have AS since I was around 60. My arthritis was not responding to other medication and my family doctor to whom I had switched a few years ago insisted that I see a Rheumatologist even though I had no insurance. I did and I’m so thankful. This wonderful doctor worked with me concerning the cost and could finally gave me an answer to what was wrong. I could barely walk a short distance particularly on pavement without terrific pain in my hip joints. With xrays I learned that I had AS along with fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis. The vertebrae in the lowest part of my back were fused and several in other areas. We used other medications until Medicare kicked in last year. I’m now receiving Rhuemacaid infusions every 6 weeks… and they are working. I still have more severe pain around last week before my next infusion but I have learned to control it to a great degree with rest and relaxing…. Now during my good weeks, I’m even trying to start riding my horse again… something I have not done since he was 18 and he is now 26 and retired… I’m glad to add my face here. I’ll be 67 this October..Photo last Eater with my granddaughter…
