A.S. Face 0975: Kelly

Face 975

My name is Kelly. I am a 27 year old single mother of a beautiful 4 year old boy named Logan. I was diagnosed with AS approximately 2 years ago following my dads diagnosis. I have struggled with extremely painful flare ups in my hips and lower back which cause my lower back to swell the size of a softball. I do my best to keep active and moving to lessen the pain level and to keep flexible and mobile. About 7 weeks ago I finally, after 10+ years of unexplainable pain, had an MRI on my pelvic/hip region and they found heavy erosion of my right SI joint and significant bone marrow edema. I have now been taking Methotrexate for the past 5 weeks and have not seen improvement thus far but am still very hopeful. Thank you all for the listening to my short story.

  1. Dear Kelly,
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.

  2. Hi Kelly,

    thanks for your story.
I also have a dad with AS which is why I knew what was going on when I had persistent problems that could not be solved with physio and painkillers.
I have recently read a medical study where they discuss that they are not actually sure the anti TFN work for AS its on pubmed.
After doing all my research, I do a lot if it – I decided I wanted a natural no side effects treatment.
I found LDN last year in middle of July, and started taking 0.5ml on 2nd August, it is awesome and makes me pretty much normal.
My dad tried it too but it did not work for him but he also does not follow a paleo autoimmune diet and eats sugar and grain which are highly inflammatory to the body. – what I am trying to sya is it works for a lot of people but not for everyone.
Health is base on 6 foundational factors:
Thinking, Breathing, Hydration, Eating, Sleeping, Moving
if one of these areas is not dialled in properly the body has a hard time and disease can move in.

Maybe consider giving LDN – Low Dose Naltrexon a go in combination with a paleo autoimmune protocol and daily meditation – headspace.com
the guy from headspace has a nice positive voice and guides you through the meditation giving you the confidence that you can do it.

If you have any questions feel free to get in touch.

    All the best

    Marie
