A.S. Face 0895: Gayle

Face 895At 36 years of age a diagnosis was handed down giving my pain a name, Ankylosing Spondylitis.  Since my early 20’s I had suffered with back pain of one kind or another.  I played hard so it was put down to that, then that all changed. Now at almost 50, I live a modified life, but I live it well.  Mother to two boys, grandmother to one boy, and wife to a wonderful man.  They have been with me on this journey of modifications and limitations.  Surrounded by friends who walk the road with me, with us, and keep us going when times get tough.  My name is Gayle, I have AS but am blessed. You do not have to look far to see someone worse off than yourself.

  1. Dear Gayle,
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.
    Sincerely Cookie

  2. I agree Gayle, our condition is not much fun and can make life hard but there are so many others out there with much worse diagnoses. We just have to be thankful for the small blessings in our lives.
