A.S. Face 0741: Jacqueline Hills
My name is Jacqueline Hills from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I was dx’d with AS approximately 1 1/2 years ago. I, too have gone through many dark places with this dx.
When I was dx, I was as dx’d with fibromyalgia, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. What an attack on my immune system, right?
There are days when I feel like I can’t hang in there… Then I focus on my only child, she’s only 14 years old. I pray daily that God would give me the strength to endure. The pain is so great and the medication only makes me sleep, then I awake in the same horrific pain.
To top all this off, I stay in the hospital more than I care to mention. My daughter is always at my side. I truly thank God for her.
THANKS for allowing me to share on this site. It really helps to have an outlet.

Hi Jacqueline: So sorry that you have had so much trouble with your diseases, and pain on top of that! We have to be strong for our children, though, right? (And it sounds like your daughter is being strong for you, too!) I wish all the best, Jacqueline. There are certainly rough days, but hopefully with a good rheumatologist and the right medications, you will find many good days, too.
God bless!
