A.S. Face 0731: Charlene Bedford
Hi my name is Charlene Bedford. I was diagnosed merely 2 months ago. Before then I had occasional pain but nothing severe. Then over the past few months the pain became constant and horrific. I explain it to people as someone is trying to dig the bone marrow out of my bones with a pearing knife. I didn’t realize a.s. could be so brutal so fast. I’m happy to hAve found a group of people who know what I am talking about. I am very thankful and open to any suggestions / advise. These are my boys who rub my back and tell people mommy is in pain all the time. I just want to be able to love and care for and plau with them like I used to and to get out of the depression which is setting in from constant pain.

Dear Charlene,
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.
Sincerely Cookie
Charlene: I wish you all the best. Are you seeing a rheumatologist? That has made a world of difference for me (most of the time). Sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Thankfully your sons are a source of strength! Sincerely, Stephania
Thank you. Yes. I am taking my humira, it’s been 2 months. The pain seems to be increasing faster than ever in spite of pain killers, physical therapy, and steroid injections into the joints. I just got injections in the SI joints last week, and they are in good shape right now but my hips and shoulders are the problem this week. It constantly changes and is excruciating.
What’s left to help the pain? Any thoughts?
Soaking in Epsom salt and rest helps a little but I am desperate.
Thanks again for your kind words and thoughtfulness.
