A.S. Face 0638: Sandi Mitchell
This is a pic of myself and my son, Anthony. He has been a great support thru my journey with AS. I was originally diagnosed when I was 18. Needless to say, many Docs were in denial, so I never received treatment at that time. I suffered for so many years with fatigue and pain. I thought that everyone felt the same as I did. Tired all the time, needing naps and being told that I was just lazy. About 6 years ago treatment finally started treatment and I now have a much better understanding. Although I still have major issues, I have a great supporting husband and family. My name is Sandi Mitchell and I am so glad to have a site like this and see others that totally get it!

Welcome Sandi glad you have found Faces! I am Brenda and I am face 0507.
Damn I love America. And some parents worry that their AS will somehow “short change” their kids. Pure Bunk! I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I think kids of AS’ers have been given a great lesson in compassion for others, tolerance, patience, understanding, caring, sharing, helping, ect. ect. This is a precious gift that will last them a lifetime. Think about it. It’s pure logic. Sandi, you don’t have to worry how Anthony is gonna turn out. I already know.
