A.S. Face 0590: Meghan Williams-Trusa

My name is Meghan Williams-Trusa (but everyone calls me “Megs”). I live in Philadelphia, PA with my husband and English Bulldog Deuce. I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis in August of 2011, but have most likely gone un/misdiagnosed since my teenage years (so they tell me). I have found much hope and inspiration from the Philly AS Support Group and this is how I became aware of this blog. I am truly grateful for your efforts to put together this amazing site.

This picture is one that I consider to be at my healthiest state, so that I can remind myself I have gotten past the terrible flares and associated pain. My love and support to all those afflicted with AS and their families.

  1. Welcome Megs! Cookie has formed a very wonderful site here for all of us “faces” of…… I was just diagnosed this May and like you I have probably also gone undiagnosed since my early teens! Thanks for joining us and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  2. Hello there
Where in Philly is your support group? I live right outside of Philly and work (for now at least) in Philly. I go to a support group in Oreland but yours may be closer.

  3. Hello Megs,

I also live outside of Philadelphia and do not attend a support group at all but would love too, can you please advise where you attend in Philly.

  4. Meghan, thank you for sharing your face with us …. And may we too all have hope that we can feel better at different times. Like you, I think I had this about 14 years and just got diagnosed this May. Keep smiling !!!

  7. Hi Meghan! I think we talked by email last year right after you were diagnosed. It’s nice to see your pretty face!

  8. Thank you for sharing your story! I live about an hour north of Philly and attended the Philly support group for the first time in July. I look forward going again, as I found it to be very helpful.

  9. Dear Megs,
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.
    Sincerely Cookie
