A.S. Face 0494: Dana
My name is Dana from Canada and I have lived with AS for almost 20 years now. I was diagnosed in my early twenties..I have good days where I think I can run a marathon and bad days of course when I can barely move. The only time I was pain free was with my pregnancy felt 100%..5 days later after giving birth it all came back. People ask why are you so stiff do you have a bad back? So sick of these questions. Anyways I’m here and will help with raising awareness to this disease that people don’t know alot about. Keep fighting the fight!

hello and welcome dana
Welcome to the group, Dana! Stephania
Hi Dana. Good to see another 20 year survivor. You look fine to me. I don’t see what your problem is. (JUST KIDDING!!) Dontcha hate that! I was at a restaurant the other night, with ten relatives, noise and chaos swirling all around me, after a particullarly tough day physically at work, questions coming at me a mile a minute, and yes, I’m crabby. And someone asks me “are you just tired”. I say “no, I am fine”, but inside me I’m screaming “I’m in fricken pain! after 20 years don’t you fricken get that!!” Pain and chaos DO NOT go together. Anyway, sorry to rant, I’m much better today, but as you can see, We all here understand.
Dear Dana,
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.
Sincerely Cookie
HI Dana,
I just noticed you commented on my story… wow, small world! It would be great to get together in the Fall and chat over coffee. Hope your summer is going well 🙂
Take care,
Deanna
