A.S. Face 0448: Emily Rouse

Hi I am 26yrs old and have AS. I live in NSW Australia. I was diagnosed in 2005. I’m currently having Remicade infusions and they are the only thing that has seemed to help along with morphine patches to numb the pain so I can function almost normally. I was lucky in the respect that I was diagnosed within a few years of my symptoms so that helped although it has taken about 6 years to get the as under control so i can work part time. Still struggling but so is everyone else. Just trying to stay strong. Xx

  2. Hi Emily Rose, I am AS Face 0236 Paula Geerinck…I have just started Remicade Infusions, have only had two and have had quite a break in between due to chest infection and two rounds of antibiotics…I dont know whether or not to continue with the Remicade, as I was previously on Enbrel for 15months and it initially gave me a great boost and then wore off…I do have a lot of pain still and dont feel Im getting a lot from Remicade… Any advice greatly appreciated. Paula

  3. Hi I was taking enbrel for a while too. It was great in the beginning but as you said it does wear off after a while. This is the second time I’ve tried remicade and it has been a huge help. I would try it for at least six infusions by then you will definitely know if it’s working. Good luck with it all. Xx

  4. Dear Emily,
