You’ve come to the right place CJ. I was forty 12 years ago when I got diagnosed. I remember when I first “googled” Ankylosing spondylitis-that was my OMG moment. You’re probably experiencing fear-but remember-our worst fears never come to pass. Fear is a waste of time. Your spine isn’t going to fuse. You won’t go blind from Iritis. Your Rhuemy will choose from a “myriad” of drugs to treat you. It may take time to find the right one-and beware of side effects (don’t fear them), but they will work.
You will probably have to accept you’ll never be perfect again-but if you KEEP read this blog, you can soon accept that there is life after diagnosis. You let the doctors take care of you physically-you let us take care of your fears. You’re among friends now.
Dear CJ,
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us!
Sincerely Cookie
