A.S. Face 0192: Eileen Rothmann
I have AS – symptoms started in my early teens with painful knees, a few years later my shoulders and hips also started to hurt. In my early 20s the back pain started. No doctor could tell me what was wrong and I started to believe people who told me I was a hypochondriac.
When I was 31 a physiotherapist referred me to a rheumy and I was finally diagnosed.
I am on Salazopyrin and my AS seems to be under control. I try not to let it interfere with my life.

Hi Samantha,
I have also felt quite alone here!
Who is your Dr and when were you diagnosed?
Regards,
Eileen
Good Job,
Thank you
Good for you. I take Tae Kwon Do (with some modifications) and will soon test for black belt at age 50. I think the movement/stretching for me helps me to keep from fusing more.
Thank you for all the kind comments 🙂
