A.S. Face 0061: Paul Sharrock

I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis and Peripheral Arthritis in November 2005 due to this invisible illness I was suffering since 1996 with every symptom going ! I am  37 yrs old but the day i was told by my Rheumatologist it was like an entire world of weight had been lifted , Also spent 3 weekly occasions having intense treatment and now I am taking a lot of DAILY medication which started to help me start learning to manage my condition , I was sick of hearing the same things off family and friends (oh its just age ) !! I know that every single day is different for everyone who has A.S , I am a year into injecting anti-tnf treatment and is helping but was a struggle to go through all the process`s monthly blood monitoring yawn but i get to see my new family (rheumatologogy team) who help plus fiends who truly understand living with a debilitating disease that needs raising awareness is a must !..Stand tall and be strong together we can fight this A.S ! Much appreciated Paul 🙂  x

  4. Hi Paul – have you seen the website http://www.sickopportunity.com/ – another good site is spondymonster – I am in the UK in Horsham, Sussex and have had AS for nearly 30 years. I have not eaten wheat or corn, nor lager, beer or Guinness and rarely touch cows milk for 20 years.

If you medical team say that diets do not change arthritis then they they don’t know the full story or research. Google zonulin, cittrulination, adenosine. I’m not cured just a lot better than I was.
