“MY DISEASE IS INVISIBLE BUT I WILL NOT BE!”
My story is similar to others. I was misdiagnosed for so long. I thought that I was going to have to deal with this pain for the rest of my life. The pain was so bad I would spend days in bed and company that came over would congregate in my bedroom. When I finally had met the RIGHT doctor she diagnosed me after numerous tests and scans to having AS. So now it was labeled..
NOW WHAT???? I was not sure if I wanted that label. She explained the disease and all my options. Through TNF-inhibitors (Enbrel) I have taken control of my disease. I have my good days and bad days but the good ones are more often.
I love and hate my disease.. I love it because I have met wonderful people to turn to on my bad days. I hate it because there is no cure….
