I have Ankylosing Spondylitis.
I was finally diagnosed in 2010 after suffering with this life altering disease since i was 16. I am now 37.
I have the HLA-B27 gene and suffer with bouts of very painful Iritis.
I have two fantastic teenage children and a very supportive partner and an excellent network of very close supportive friends that help me get through this disease day by day.
I don’t let A.S. rule me, I rule A.S.
I wouldn’t wish this painful chronic disease on my worst enemy.
I live in hope that a cure will be found and that my children will not have to go through what i have.
I am not alone
I stand tall
